VEX Robotics Teams Sweep Belfast Competition
On December 21st our three Robotics teams competed at the CABOCES VEX Qualifying Tournament at Belfast CSD and had an outstanding all-around performance! All three Wellsville teams advanced to the finals, finished 1-2-3 in the Skills Challenge, and swept the awards ceremony! All three of our teams qualified for the Northern New York State VRC Spin Up Championships in Syracuse, NY in March. What is most impressive is that 8 of our 12 members are brand new to the program and all three teams were able to overcome significant obstacles throughout the tournament. Our next tournament is Saturday, January 28th at Canaseraga CSD.

- Team 14895A (Kavan O’Grady, Eli Brophy, Serena Boussa, Hua Qi Zhang) – Tournament Champions, Skills Champions (Team with highest combined top Programming and top Driving Skills Challenge score), Design Award (Team with most effective and efficient robot design process)
- Team 14895B (Ben Jordan, Cooper Brockway, Ethan Bailey, Lucius Griggs) – Tournament Champions, 2nd Place Skills Challenge, Excellence Award (Top All Around Team (Robot Performance and Judged)
- Team 14895C (Kamron Dodge, Evan Billings, Caitlin Bittel, Terrence Benz) – Tournament Finalists, 3rd Place Skills Challenge, Judges Award (Team deserving recognition from Judges for special accomplishments)
