    Congratulations to all of the Odyssey of the Mind teams!
    Each team competed well and all placed in the top three of their division. Six of our teams will be moving onto the State competition!

    High School Level: 1st place teams: Silent Movie and Pandora's Box.

    Middle School Level: 1st place teams: Silent Movie and Pandora's Box; 3rd place: Runaway Train.

    Elementary School Level: 1st place team: Technical Difficulties; 2nd place: Silent Movie; 3rd place: Pandora's Box.

NYS Assessment Update:
Grades 3-8 Assessments in ELA will be conducted on April 14th-16th, with Math being conducted on April 22nd-24th. 
To help your child prepare for these assessments, please encourage them to:
  • get regular amounts of sleep leading up to each assessment,
  • eat nutritious meals,
  • to do their best!

  • Career Connection with Emmy Winner Chris Mangum through Video Conference 

    Emmy Award-Winning Film/Documentary Composer/Educator- Julliard School of Music Graduate


    On March 27th, 2015, Students from grades 8-12 participating in Music programs in Wellsville had the opportunity to attend a live Video Conference with a professional Composer/Educator. The conference started with a brief synopsis of the composers life and career choices that led him to where he is today. Seven schools from around New York State participated in this conference. Students from each participating school had the opportunity to ask individual questions and answer question from Mr. Mangum. Topics discussed were: Equipment and tools required to compose for films and documentaries, necessary education required to become a Film/Documentary Composer and the detailed process in which he composes music with the Film Makers. The Video Conference lasted roughly an hour.
